Where did HIV originate? Where was the first case of HIV found?

The first recorded and medically treated case of AIDS was found in a male in New York City, USA in the 1980’s. The first case of AIDS in was diagnosed in 1986 in Chennai. It is thought that the HIV virus originated in a monkey, although science still does not know for sure.
