There is no way to be 100% sure that you will not transmit the disease when having sex, even if you do use a condom. Therefore, if one is infected with HIV it is important to communicate and be open with your partner and discuss if they are comfortable with it. Sexual intercourse with an HIV infected person is risky; there is always the possibility of transmission. Honesty and open communication between partners is important to help prevent further spread of HIV, but abstinence is the only way to guarantee that HIV will not be spread through sexual intercourse.
